How to create Modes for switching settings โ
Modes save the currently applied settings for all your devices. This allows you to change all your device settings at once. Modes do not however save internal Profile or Function settings, so we will create two separate fan Profiles, one for silent mode and one for gaming mode.
Open CoolerControl โ
You can open up the coolercontrol
desktop application or use the Web UI.
1. Create a new Profile โ
2. Let's give the new Profile a descriptive name like "Silent Fan Profile" โ
3. Select the Profile Type โ
For this tutorial we're going to use Fixed for simplicity.
4. We'll set a low speed for "Silent" Mode โ
5. Click the Save button to save our changes โ
6. Create a second Profile โ
7. Let's give this Profile a descriptive name like "Gaming Fan Profile" โ
8. Select the Profile Type โ
For this tutorial we're going to use Fixed again for simplicity.
9. We'll give it a high fan speed for maximum cooling while gaming โ
10. Click on the Save button to save our Profile changes โ
11. Now click on the fan we want to control โ
12. Click on the Profile dropdown menu โ
13. First we will select the Silent Fan Profile โ
14. Click on Apply to set our "Silent" fan speed โ
15. We then create a new Mode based on these fan settings โ
Creating a new Mode will save the settings you've applied to your fans, such as which Profile is applied to which fan.
16. Let's give this Mode a descriptive name: "Silent Mode" because we're using our silent fan Profile โ
17. Now let's change our fan settings again โ
18. Click on the Profile dropdown menu โ
19. Select our "Gaming Fan Profile" โ
20. Click on Apply to save our new fan settings โ
21. Now let's create our second Mode โ
22. Let's give it a description name like "Gaming Mode", since we're using our gaming fan Profile โ
23. Now you can use the Modes quick menu or the system tray menu to swap all of your applied settings on the fly โ
You can also adjust your Modes by updating them with the currently applied settings at any time.
