๐ท๏ธ Tags โ
Tags are colored labels you can assign to fan channels to organize and group them by purpose. Once assigned, tags can be used to filter Dashboards and to apply Profiles across multiple fans at once.
Creating Tags โ
Tags are created and assigned from the More Options menu on a fan channel in the main menu. Open the more options menu next to a fan channel and choose Manage Tags to open the tag panel.
From the tag panel you can:
- Create a new tag by entering a name (max 15 characters) and picking a color
- Rename or delete existing tags (deletion automatically removes the tag from all channels)
- Reorder tags by dragging them โ the order determines how tags are sorted throughout the UI
- Assign or unassign any tag to the current channel by toggling it
Tags and their channel assignments are saved automatically as part of the UI settings.
Using Tags โ
In Dashboards โ
Each dashboard supports tag-based filtering. Select one or more tags in the dashboard filter bar to show only the channels that carry those tags. Channels already covered by a selected tag are hidden from the manual channel selector to avoid duplication.
See Dashboards for details.
When Applying Profiles โ
When applying a profile to fans, switch from Select by Channel to Select by Tag mode to target every controllable channel that belongs to a given tag. The tag picker shows how many controllable channels each tag covers, making it easy to apply a single profile to a logical group (e.g., all case fans, or all radiator fans) without selecting each one individually.
See Profiles for details.
In the Device Tree โ
Tags appear as small colored badges next to channel names in the device tree, giving you an instant visual overview of how each channel is categorized.
Tips โ
- Use tags to model your physical layout โ e.g.,
case-intake,case-exhaust,rad-fans,cpu-aio - One tag per group โ a single well-named tag is easier to manage than many overlapping ones
- Tag names are shared โ a tag exists globally and can be assigned to channels across different devices
- Color-code by role โ use consistent colors (e.g., blue for intake, red for hot-side) to make the device tree easy to read at a glance
